Attorney Mary Lloyd Patton, a seasoned attorney with nearly a decade of experience, specializes in criminal defense, appellate advocacy with a specialization in criminal appeals, post-conviction cases, and civil administrative procedure.
Ms. Lloyd Patton holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice and History from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Prior to starting her private practice, Ms. Lloyd Patton was an associate at a boutique criminal defense firm in Baltimore, MD. Over the course of her tenure, Ms. Lloyd Patton has successfully tried and won multiple cases in both jury and bench trials ranging from low level traffic offenses to first degree murders cases carrying life sentences. In addition, to her exceptional trial work, Ms. Lloyd Patton has spent her career zealously advocating for Defendant’s post-trial rights in both appellate and post-conviction cases. Ms. Lloyd Patton has successfully argued and won cases in multiple jurisdictions as well as in front of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. Her research, writing, and oral argument skills have led to multiple convictions being overturned, including a life sentence.
Ms. Lloyd Patton also serves as a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Naval Reserves. She currently is assigned to the Navy Security Force Unit at NAS Patuxent River as the Chief training officer, specializing in law enforcement and courtroom testimony. In 2009, she was deployed to Al Udeid Air Force Base in Qatar where she served for 18 months as a protective services agent for United States Central Command.
Ms. Lloyd Patton is admitted to practice before the Maryland State Bar and United States District Court, District of Maryland. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Baltimore City Bar Association, the Veterans’ Affairs and Military Law Association and the Maryland State Bar Association.
